As the UK's latest cold spell continues to grip the country, many of us will be looking for ways to stay warm for cheap. From blankets to hot water bottles, there have been numerous cost-effective methods doing the rounds. But one particular heater has gotten lots of people talking.

At Dunelm, shoppers have been raving over a compact fan heater that they say warms up a room 'within minutes'. Currently going for £20, the retailer's Plug in 500W PTC Heater has plenty of positive reviews - including five out of five star comments from happy customers.

Better still, the heater only costs 17p per hour to run. A description of the device on the Dunelm website reads: "Easy to carry and packed in recyclable material, this 500W ceramic plug in heater has an a power indicator light and LED display, making it visible in the dark.

"Perfect for keeping your preferred set temperature in any room of the house. With two fan speeds, both low and high, this PTC heater also has a 1-12 hour timer and PTC heating element."

Among those who gave a five star rating is Dave P, who typed: "Great small heater. Take the chill of the room within minutes." Manuela raved: "We simply love it! It is small powerful and energy low consumption. in only 30 mins if you close the door in the room you can feel the difference of the temperature. It is a great product. We will buy defo one more."

Susan wrote: "Bit sceptical at first . However i am impressed they are great little plug in heaters. I use one in my small kitchen which heats up quickly. My second one heats my landing area. Highly recommend for 17p per hour. Good investment."

Susie added: "So far very impressed with this little unit, soon warms my dining room just before we dine in it and does the job perfectly for us. Seems quite economical on running cost to."
